AI companion credits explained: Dreamcoins, Moments, Hearts and Chips
Understand why subscriptions, credit grants, calls and generated media can produce a very different monthly bill.

Dreamcoins, Moments, Hearts and Chips are service-specific virtual currencies. They are not equivalent units and cannot be compared without each provider’s published price for the same action. A “1,000-credit bonus” can be generous on one platform and trivial on another.
Know what a unit actually buys

Worked arithmetic: the same usage can cost different unit totals
At the officially published March 2026 OurDream rates, ten standard images cost 50 Dreamcoins, and a 15-minute call costs 750: total 800 Dreamcoins. At the cited Secrets rates, ten images cost 500 Moments and a 15-minute call costs 1,500: total 2,000 Moments. This does not prove that OurDream is cheaper in money, because the two unit currencies have different purchase prices and plan grants.
Three rules to avoid credit surprises
- Compute the cost per action, not just the number of included credits.
- Separate subscription grants from purchased, non-expiring balances.
- Check whether retries, edits, enhanced resolution or alternative models spend another unit charge.
Inspect expiry, rollover and refunds
Secrets’ official wiki distinguishes monthly grant Moments—which reset—from bought Moments that do not expire. Lovescape states that purchased Chips do not expire but are non-refundable. OurDream explicitly documents grants and per-action costs. Swipey’s Hearts pricing needs a live account verification before an exact estimate is responsible.

Cash conversions matter more than nominal credit totals
If one provider sells 1,000 virtual units for a fixed price and another sells 10,000 for a similar amount, that tells you nothing until you know how many units each action consumes. Calculate the monetary price per image or call minute only after confirming the purchase currency, bundle size, tax and discounts. Include leftover units as a risk, not an automatic asset, if they reset or are non-refundable.

Where a provider exposes a usage-history screen, use its numbers rather than remembering a vague monthly total. Lovescape explicitly documents Token History, and Kindroid documents an audio usage screen with different categories.
Never compare raw coin balances
Under dated published rates, ten minutes of calls equals 500 OurDream Dreamcoins or 1,000 Secrets Moments. Those numbers are not monetary equivalents. Swipey charges Hearts for various actions, including character edits (15 Hearts, plus 10 for a voice change), but the cash value depends on a current Hearts purchase package. Compare the total cash price of the same basket, not units whose exchange rates differ.
